For 2009, the LA Auto Show and Hyundai have teamed up to add even more punch to the newly released 2.0T Genesis Coupe, which made its debut as a concept car at the 2007 LA Auto Show. Already boasting a 210-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, track-tuned sus-pension, Torsen limited-slip differential and Brembo braking system, the Genesis Coupe is a fearsome per-former right off the showroom floor. You might wonder how one could make the car any better, but the show’s Kentia Hall exhibitors were up to the task.

Perhaps no aftermarket modification makes more of an impact to the overall presence and performance of a vehicle than upgraded wheels, tires and suspension. The performance experts at Wheel Warehouse put together a combination of ADVAN RS-D wheels wrapped in Yokohama’s ADVAN Sport tires and an Eibach Pro Kit, enabling the Genesis to handle even better than before

with almost no sacrifice in ride comfort. To complete the performance upgrades, Mackin Industries provided an MXP bolt-on stainless steel exhaust system, providing some additional horsepower and a nice tuned sound.

Turning our attention to the interior, Al & Ed’s Autosound and Alpine Electronics created an entire mobile electronics system. The painted center console received an Alpine digital media station, which features an Alpine navigation system and controls for an Apple iPod and iPhone. To capture the twists and curves of the race track, front and rear cameras were added to the vehicle. Many of the system components can be disconnected from the Scosche cables and removed from the car for those times when driving performance is the sole priority.

Finishing touches include a paint and headlight protection kit from Star Shield Armor, Llumar’s ceramic window film, protecting the interior from the beating sun, and graphics by Auto Indulgence.
